She' s doing well - got a new hairdo!

So So sorry all; I was out of town this weekend and couldn't get any computer time in! I promise all is well and I feel terrible for breaking your routines of checking in on my jabbering every day. Mily has been having her meals in the dining room at rehab for the last couple of days; so she is seeing other faces and getting more interaction with others as well. She is slowly progressing to other varieties of foods, they are still pureed at this point though. She is working hard in PT and continues to gain slow but sure progress with her strength and feeling on the left side. Her voice and speech have both improved so much in the last few days; she really sounds like our old Mily again. She was back on her facebook the other night - if you're a FB user and haven't seen her update - go check it out! She has had a couple of rather unfortunate haircuts over the last month, she got a 'fixer' haircut today and it helped boost her spirits. She has spent alot of time in reflection and prayer over the events of the last month, she is devastated that this is the turn her life has taken - but knows that making peace with it is important so she can heal and move on. Her family has been paramount in guiding her spiritually and coming to terms with the anger and frustration that is inevitable when life takes a turn we don't see coming. I am more proud of you than I have words for, my sweet. You have a character that is quite rare; a grace that shines through no matter the adversity. When we pray for God to use us in accord with his will, we never know what he has in mind. Great things are to come - I am sure of it. You inspire us just by being you, you don't have to try to be great - you just are. B

You didn't tell me that you are going into the dining room to eat? You go girl, that is what you need, to be around the others and realize what a miracle you are! I bet that your recovery is amazing even the meakest! Being able to see the little miracles that you have comparitivly (not sure that is spelled right) to others, should give you such insight into why we think that you are an amazing gift to each of us every day!
God is so good and we are so lucky to be able to appreciate the miracles that we see him give to you each and every day, thank you for allowing us to be witness.
I love you Mily and am so happy that you have your guys around you during this healing time and your Mom. The support from them is surely a boost to your recovery.

I need to work now so have a miraculous day Mils and we will talk to you soon!! See you on facebook little girl can't wait to see the new hairdo!

  3. Mils,
It was so difficult for me to cut your beautiful hair. It was only to make you more comfortable! I hope you aren't too upset with me!
I am glad you are doing so well. You are an inspiration to us all.
    Love you,
    Kell

  4. Mils,

So happy that you got a new hairdo...of course I've been telling you forever to cut it! I didn't quite mean for it to happen this way though so I hope you enjoy your new haircut and may it lift your spirit a bit! Mealtime in the dining room huh...I know its no restaurant but hey at least you have some company right! I just booked my ticket to come out there on the 11th! I also have my hotel booked and we are working on the rental car. John is coming with me...Kenna has soccer tryouts so unfortunately she will miss it but I will bring her school picture so you can see how big she is getting!! I checked the weather hoping for snow but alas its only supposed to rain...gotta love that Seattle weather huh?! LOL! Enough rambling...gave Kenna your kisses and hugs and she sends hers in return! Love you babe! See you soon!!

  5. Hey Mils,
Sounds like you are making good progress. I think you are probably wanting it to go faster but you have to take each step as it comes. And boy, you have made such great amazing strides. Super Bowl weekend coming up. Who are you rooting for? I am for the Saints - the Cinderella team. I have been doing some babysitting for Justin & Annie. The girls are getting so big. They are teaching me stuff. Like princess stuff. You know that important girl stuff. And Beck is doing awesome. I am so amazed on what you are doing - you are a super star that is for sure. Keep on going we are all here for you. I love you lots. Dan & Ryan - sending big hugs and kisses to you. You guys are awesome as well. Love you all - Aunt Vicki

  7. Hola Mi Amiga!!!

What's up baby?? I have been working hard and getting ready for Kenna's soccer game this weekend! Wish them luck as if they win Sat they play Sunday and they are in the round of "Sweet 16". They started with over 100 teams in her division so I'm crossing my fingers. Are you planning on watching the Superbowl on Sunday? I'm going for the Saints all the way baby!! Just 7 more days and I will be flying into Seattle! Of course the weather call for rain every day! Oh well...John was hoping for snow though! LOL! Hope you have a fun filled weekend with Beth! I will see you the following weekend (boy you will be busy won't you... ha ha!
