"I had a good day today"......
Oh my..... Tomorrow morning I fly out of SoCal enroute to Mily. Not soon enough for me! I am looking forward to a really, really good update that I can share with you right from Mily's side. She called me last night while she had been left alone for a few - the first time she dialed the phone alone I'm told! She told me she'd had a good day....she said the same thing when she called this afternoon. I'm SOSOSOOO happy that she's enjoying her therapy sessions - PT, OT, and speech are all going very well. She sounds better overall - more centered, focused on what needs to happen and on her progress versus why the heck she got into this pickle in the first place. My plan is to sit with her and talk not about what has come to pass, but how to make the best of what God has given. He gave us the gift of her life - the purpose is not for us to be concerned with. Thats' what I want to try to impress upon Mily - to just trust the path He's put her upon and know that his purpose will reveal itself in it's time. I know we will laugh some and cry some and hug and giggle like schoolgirls. It will heal the places in my heart that have been craving what only Mily gives us; I pray it will heal her in the same way. I have many messages from all of you to share with her and I know she's looking forward to seeing them. Millie would like to plaster another wall in Mily's room with messages from all of you - this time she wants Valentine's greetings! I will post all the info for where to send everything while I'm up there this weekend. I will also be checking out what her wish list still has on it and let you know how we're doing on that front. She is still truly blown away by all the love that has come to her and her family since this all began; most humble thanks. Live - from Olympia tomorrow nite! :) B

ReplyDeleteWell B I too am excited that you will be there to visit her!! You will have to tell us about her new do! Tell Mily that if she wants to spike it I will get her some product when her scar has healed enough to be able to put it in her hair! She might like it!! I loved it when my hair was so short that I spiked it.
ReplyDeleteSo Mils I am so proud of you for dialing the phone by yourself!! Woo Hoo, hand eye coordination never looked so good did it? You are amazing. So happy that you are getting out of your room and have others to be around, that are somewhat going through a similar journey. I bet that you have befriended the entire place already including the staff, your kind soul and warm heart will have all of them eating out of your hand whether they want to or not!! LOL

Hello Milly!!! So good to hear how far you have come in such a short time! This is my first comment, but I have been following your blog since Kelloggs first told me about it! You're friends are wonderful and obviously love you much to put all this effort in keeping the rest of us updated and for that we are all grateful to them. Keep up the positive attitude and keep getting better. Have a wonderful Valentine's Day! =)

ReplyDeleteI am not going to write you a Valentine's Greeting cause I will be there LIVE and IN PERSON Valentine's weekend! Dialing phones late at night my dear...only you! I'm usually dead asleep when you call and never hear the phone so I will call you back in the mornings! I told Beth you called and said you were bored today so I charged her (via FB)with keeping things lively! I hope you had a great PT session today and I will call you later!
