On this eve of New Years' eve....... hospital day 4

Thank you dear Lord for your guidance and for hearing our prayers for Mily. I am so very happy to share today's updates. Mily remains stable; when her sedation levels are decreased she is now using her sign language skills! She has made the sign for 'I love you' and 'yes'; she is also regaining muscle tone on the left side. Up to now, her left side has been absent of movement (flaccid); she is now able to squeeze a hand tightly with her left hand. Her ICP's (brain pressures) have stayed low; she went for another CT this morning and tolerated the transport well. The results of that are still pending. While all of this is truly fantastic news; it is important that the prayer chain continue. The risk of a setback is still quite great; these types of injuries can be wrought with complications. I do not want to be negative; just realistic. She needs us to continue with the energy and love we've been sending. All other parameters with regards to Mily are in perfect order; the staff here is diligent in providing a high level of care. Danny is now stateside and will arrive in Seattle around 5pm. The LDS church is continuing to provide meals and support - they are treating us all like family. Millie and Frank would like to also extend their thanks to Carlos Mejia of WACMHC for his caring and kindness, and I was remiss in my thanks last night as I omitted Karleen DeGroodt for the initial setup of this blog; and to Dana Castleberry for helping Karleen out. Mily is the glue that brings us all together and binds us tightly; keep it up all.... the power of prayer here is undeniable!
